Seminar on “Family Dynamics and Expressed Emotions”
with Professor Julian Leff
A fall meeting with Julian Leff will take place on October 5th, 2007. The seminar “Family Dynamics and Expressed Emotions” will be held in cooperation with The Psychotherapeutic Unit of Glostrup Psychiatric Center in Copenhagen.
Julian Leff is Professor Emeritus at the Institute of Psychiatry in London and has worked extensively with Family therapy and Expressed Emotion (EE). The seminar will be a mixture of lectures and interactive workshops, where the elements of Expressed Emotion: critical comments, hostility and overinvolvment will be used. Differences between ‘high EE’ and ‘low EE’ will be discussed as well as their occurrence in both families and daily clinical work. The clinical aspects of Expressed Emotion will be illustrated by role play, and participants will be asked to bring material from their work with families.
